Helen DeGeatano Elected to VBBA Board for 2nd Term

The Dutchers are happy to announce that their founder and President, Helen “The Wild Sicilian” DeGeatano, has been elected to another 2 year term as a Trustee to the Executive Board of the Vintage Base Ball Association.  Congratulations are in order as well as a hearty “Hurrah!”

Robbins Family Loses Another

The Dutchers were saddened to hear of the passing of Christopher Robbins, son of the late Ronald “Waterboy” Robbins who was the long time Dutchers equipment manager and husband to the Dutchers founder, Helen DeGeatano.  The club sends their thoughts, prayers, and condolences to all family members and friends.

2016 Schedule

The Dutchers are happy to announce the release of their 2016 Vintage Base Ball schedule.  This year’s season features five individual matches at Beery Field in Douglas along with hosting a 2-day festival showcasing five vintage clubs on July 23 & 24.  The Dutchers will also be participating in the Holland Tulip Time Festival and the Saugatuck 4th of July parade.  Rounding out the season will be a visit to The Huntington Pioneer Festival in Huntington, Indiana. In Memory of Thelma Coghlin

We are saddened to hear of the recent passing of Thelma Coghlin, long time friend and supporter of the Douglas Dutchers Base Ball Club. Thelma was a pillar in the community of Saugatuck and known for her incredible kindness and generosity. She was President of the Women’s Society of Christian Service, Vice President of the Church Women United and volunteered for the American Cancer Society, Hospital Auxiliary, March of Dimes, the Cystic Fibrosis Drive, and the Department of Human Services. The Dutchers send their deepest condolences to the Coghlin family and plan to acknowledge the life and memory of Thelma as a part of our 2016 season.
