Anniversary Celebration

Congratulations to Steve & Tanya Sheridan as they celebrate their 47th wedding anniversary!  Steve “The Judge” Sheridan served for many years on the Board of Directors for the Dutchers and still remains a close friend and staple in the community. The Dutchers extend a hearty Hurrah! to many more years.

Dutchers Remember Pieter Lion As Community Mainstay

Pieter Lion, long-time friend and supporter of the Dutchers, passed away peacefully on Sunday, June 3, 2018.  Pieter was a member and Chair of the Douglas Planning Commission, and member of the Tri-Community Planning Commission. He was appointed to the Village of Douglas Council and served as President of the Douglas Council. Pieter loved dogs, photography, fly-fishing, reading & rare books, and classical music, especially Bach. He enjoyed studying logic, history, and military ethics. He was a fan of Manchester United and Netherlands National soccer team. The Douglas Dutchers send their thoughts, prayers, and condolences to his wife Patricia and family.

Remembering the Downings

The Douglas Dutchers would like to extend their deepest sympathies to the family of former ballist, Scott “Scooter” Downing.  Scooter recently lost his mother, Marie Downing, and his mother-in-law, Jan Wollpert, both of whom were ardent supporters and spectators at many Dutchers games.  They will be greatly missed and always remembered.

Condolences to Patsy Wassenaar Family

The Dutchers send their thoughts, prayers, and condolences to Gordon Wassenaar and family in the passing of Patsy, long time friend and supporter of the Douglas Dutchers Base Ball Club.  Patsy was a successful realtor and leading antique dealer in West Michigan. She will be remembered and defined by her great faith and generosity.  The family requests that memorial contributions be made to Campus Crusade for Christ or Our Daily Bread.

Phoenix Salon & Day Spa Now Open

The Dutchers would like to wish Jennifer Gould, wife of our very own Joe “Gouly” Gould,  much success in her new business venture as she recently opened her Phoenix Salon & Day Spa at 777 Lincoln Ave in Holland.  The salon is considered a full-service salon offering haircuts, color services, pedicures and manicures and facial waxing and takes customers by appointment or on a walk-in basis.  Call them at 616-392-1777 to make an appointment!
